Sew your ultimate festival wardrobe

We have scoured the Internet in search of the ultimate festival fashion for 2016. Coachella kicks off the festival season in April and sets the style standards for the rest of the season. We have picked 5 of our favourite looks from style blogs at Coachella that you can make yourself to create your ultimate festival wardrobe.

Long Open Cardigan

Long light cardigans are bang on the festival trend, they are featured everywhere this year. Although festivals can be hot during that day (If you are lucky enough for it not to be pouring with rain) during the night the temperature can drop right down. So light long cardigans make for a stylish and practical look.

The image on the right comes from a Spanish blog called Dulceida. She was just one of a whole host of bloggers to feature a long cardigan so this is going to be a strong look for the summer.

This Burda Style Cardigan is lightweight and stylish. Like the bloggers outfit, it can be teamed up with something skimpy underneath. Because you can use crochet / lace / sheer fabric, you will still be able to see your clothing under.

Sheer Blouse

A sheer blouse isn’t just for the festival season, however it does make for a great festival look. The one showed on the right on Brooke Testoni’s blog is vintage, however you could recreate the blouse easily with some vintage fabric and this Burda Style sheer blouse pattern, which, as you can see, looks fantastic worn with a bandeau or bralet underneath.

Scarf Shorts

Scarf shorts with a boho print are in! For this pattern you need 4 silk scarves. If you can find 4 vintage silk scarves that work well together, DO IT! Not only will you have a truly unique item to wear you will also have vintage style down! (Which is a festival essential) The boho silk shorts worn on Deaddsouls are store bought and look just as stylish, so if your struggling to find vintage, buy from your local fabric store, you will still rock that style.

Bralets

Easy Bustier Jemerced

So, you’ve got all your sheer tops & cardigans, what do you wear under? Yes, you can make that too. The Burda Style Easy Bustier is just that. Easy. You can make this with any fabric and it can be in a halter-neck or with spaghetti style straps. Lace and crochet is massive this year, so if you fancy a challenge, create this look with that. The look from Jemerced shows both looks, and they both look trendy.

Peasant Blouse

Off the shoulder peasant blouses are EVERYWHERE. They are floaty and flirty and you need one! There are various different styles that are being worn, there are cropped blouses seen here on Fashionisima, longer tops as shown above on the right on Glam & Glitter and more. You can create these looks using the Burda Style Peasant Blouse pattern. Choose a boho, black or floral pattern and you will be set for festival fashion.
