The sun has started shining and it’s almost time to shed our stuffy winterwear. But what to wear for the warmer weather? Keep reading for summer sewing inspiration…
There are a few key styles that have come to the forefront and are set to be summer sewing essentials. One thing I’m happy about is that vintage-style summer dresses are most definitely back in fashion! When you’re choosing your fabric think bold floral prints or plain pastels.
Culottes are another hot item for the scorching weather around the corner (a girl can dream). These midi-length shorts are perfect for tackling the Spring-Summer transition, where it’s too warm for trousers but too nippy to bare the full leg. They create a gorgeous silhouette and are oh-so flattering on just about anyone.
And of course there’s the ever-faithful jumpsuit, which has rocketed back into popularity – most recently through Scarlet Johansson. Here she is pictured in the hot coral number everyone’s lusting after right now.
There are lots of styles out there – some formal, some casual. If you’re not looking for a full-length number like Scarlet’s, then why not opt for a playsuit instead?
All the patterns shown above are digital patterns and can therefore be used immediately after downloading! If you can’t choose a single pattern (it’s tough isn’t it) then why not take a peek at our magazines? The new issues are packed full of summer sewing projects for you to get stuck into.
